Purchased in 2020, the boot has fully come apart with cracks on all sides of the boot at flection points now in 2025. I had hoped to have these boots for 20+ years, similar to my parents. Upon some research it looks like when Columbia bought Sorel in 2000, the designs stayed the same but the rubber formulas would have likely changed. For whatever reason, profit or environmental, one can not get the same lasting boots of the 80s from Sorel today. I wont be repurchasing, but looking for a longer lasting option at this price point.

I love my new Sorels. My last pair lasted 47 years and actually are still good, so you can't beat the value. They are stylish and warm which is great. I took off a star because they are a bit like moon boots. Great for walking on snow or ice, but not great on pavement.

I purchased these boots at the Fairbanks store. I had help and she was patient with me. I’m not a cold weather person, but a lost bag and negative temps…. Chose these boots because they were 2 pounds lighter than the other pair I had out (on sale) both were rated for the same temp. I was worried the extra 2 pounds would be hard on my knees for our glacier walk. In the store I had 2 pr of socks on so the size was larger than what I normally wear. I purchased and wore them out of the store-my sneakers were not cutting it in those temps! My toes were warm the rest of the day-however-we weren’t outside constantly. That night we went on a tour for the Auroras. My toes were cold. The only part that was cold. The next day we did a snow mushing tour, very cold toes! 3 rd day I added toe warmers inside the socks-still cold-painfully so! These boots are expensive and snow gear is already clunky to move in-pass on these boots! I would return them if I could!

I have always admired these classic boots and finally ordered a pair. The quality appears to be first rate. The boots hold the foot securely so there is no sloshing around inside. The cuffs are too tall for my short self so I will probably tie down to the 3rd D-ring for longer walks. Had I tried them in a store, I would have looked for a shorter boot, but these will be fine.

My 12 year old Kamik boots finally gave out, and since I purchased them, I've relocated to a place where winter is much longer! The solution? Sorely! My partner has had a pair of Sorels for over 20 years, and they are nowhere near to wearing out. Top features for me are the removable lining and weatherproof outer. IMO the best boots by a MILE for a northern Michigan winter!!
