I originally went in for a pair of the speed 2 hiking shoes but they did not have my size so I bought the mids instead. Within 48 hours and zero break-in I was scrambling up Turtlehead Peak in Red Rock Canyon NV. The boots handled it wonderfully. 12 miles total; I was even able to jog a 5k on my way back to the visitors center with minimal ankle/arch/shin pain. *These are not trail runners, I simply enjoy pushing myself* I typically wear a 12 with running shoes/sneakers, went with 11.5 boots. There was a hair of extra room even with some thick smartwool hiking socks, I'll be wearing liners next time I'm out. No blisters though.

As is often the tradeoff with lightweight trail shoes (calling them boots seems like an exaggeration), one gives up durability and the option to use them off-trail. I wouldn't say I babied my 19-month-old pair of Moab Speeds but I did not abuse them with off-trail brush-busting either. Yet, similar to that demonstrated in other photos already posted here, the side of one toe-box recently failed. An additional anecdotal oddity not previously encountered with similar trail shoes was the weird Achilles pain experienced after hiking more than a couple of miles in this model.

Hiked Franconia Ridge in NH straight out the box! Not a single mile of breaking them in and I cannot say more great things about these boots. Trails on our second day were a bit muddy from some over night rain & my feet stayed dry and warm the whole day. Fantastic boots

These shoes are light weight and comfortable right out of the box. I love that they come in a 10.5 size so many manufacturers skip from 10 to 11.

I wore these boots for a 7 day hiking trip in the Balkans (Albania, Kosovo and Montenegro) - walking / scrambling 7-10 hours a day on mountain trails. I walked on dirt, mud, gravel and rocks with no slipping or water issues (it rained one day). Boots have a roomy toe bed, are extremely light weight, required zero break in, and fit snuggly on my thin ankles. I bought cushier inserts but decided not to use them because it was unnecessary. Absolutely recommend.
