First time we used it on a 120 minute cycle, the timer got to about 30 minutes and then got stuck. Water stayed on flooding everything and it just stopped counting down. Has done the same thing every time we used it. Don't waste your money or your time having to return it to Amazon (as so often seems to be the case with purchases on here these days).

Products fail but Gardena customer support sucks. Sometimes the customer service phone line just dies, sometimes I get connected to a (french?) call centre - who do not pick up but I can hear them chattering... in short I would not recommend them as a supplier as they do not appear to care for their customers at all.

We have a hose to top up a large pond. One of these in series is a back stop "off" lest we forget and leave the hose on too long. I've had at least three of this model. One blew out in frost (my fault - should have brought it indoors for the winter) but the other two the timer mechanism just stopped - bearings on the balance wheel erodes - metal on plastic. They cannot be relied upon for more than probably 60 - 80 hours of down-counting. Built to a price not a spec. However, I now replace them annually to maintain system reliability.

Installs in a jiffy and so simple, just dial the number of minutes. No batteries to replace, just clockwork timer so zero maintenance. Nice touch that it comes with adaptor so will fit any size outside (screw) tap.

Great simple device, stops from forgetting to turn off hose. Much easier than the complex electronic models
