Works perfectly! Minor delays turning on and off, but it's just a few seconds and works flawlessly otherwise! It'll take up an entire outlet, so forget using the other plug for something else.

Very nice unit. Well made and easy to set up. I phone app works really well as it shows you the status of the plug ( on / off ) when your away. Had lots of fun remotely switching off sons PlayStation when at work only to find he spent the day packing it up to send back to Sony.''

It did not connect to my Wi-Fi even when I input the correct password, even though my other devices connect to my Wi-Fi fine, so I sent it back for a refund. I bought the Belkin Wemo smart plug instead and it connected to my Wi-Fi on the second attempt and is working fine now.

You just have to have a wifi router in you house. Plug it into the wall outlet. Set it up to connect to wifi. Download the android app. The android app finds it after a few minutes. Then you can switch it with the app. I even unplugged it from the wall for a while, then plugged it back in, and it worked without having to re-setting it up. well, not exactly after a few months. They tend to be a little unreliable. Sometimes they work, and sometimes they don't. There are times when the Edimax EdiPlug app just won't detect them for anything, even when laptops can connect to your router just fine. You have to keep in mind that they are connected to your home's wifi router, then the Edimax EdiPlug app connects to them through your router from the internet. There is a Update tool that you can run on a PC (Windows only) to, I think, upgrade the firmware. I can't use it, since I don't have a Windows PC, and only use Mac and Linux.

The customer support is pretty excellent. I had originally written a review about my displeasure with this product because it wouldn't connect to my network, due to some WEP issues. The issues were with the Smartplug, so I emailed their tech support. They were very fast in response, usually <24 hours to reply. After 2-3 weeks, they pushed an update to the app with more WEP options. That didn't solve my problem, but it was nice to see action. A few days later, I was emailed back with a Beta Firmware and instructions on how to update the Smartplug, which solved my network connectivity problems. That is some excellent customer support, which warrants 5 stars from me. I do have those two cons though, which would be nice to solve, but nothing is perfect.
