This was a huge upgrade from my prev monitor. I some how missed the local dimming, even if only edge lit 16 zones. Colors are great, 180hz is awesome but need DP. Menu is intuitive and responsive. Only gripe would be placement of USB ports and SDR contrast ratio.

The Dell AW2725DM is decent for PC gaming. It has a 180Hz refresh rate that you can reach with a DisplayPort connection, but not over HDMI, as it's limited to HDMI 2.0 bandwidth. It also supports all common VRR formats to reduce screen tearing. Plus, it has low input lag for a responsive feel and good motion handling across its VRR range. However, there's less motion blur if you disable VRR. Unfortunately, this monitor has poor picture quality, particularly in HDR, with a low contrast ratio and a terrible local dimming feature that causes distracting haloing.

The monitor seems fine, I just did not realize that when I purchased it, I would have to use my headphones 24/7 or buy speakers for it. Looking to buy a new desktop pc with Windows 11 that I can afford.

I bought this as my son's first gaming monitor. I was familiar with Dell, but I hadn't heard of the Alienware brand before. The main reason I decided to go with this was the peace of mind that comes with Dell's customer support. That was the biggest selling point for me.
