It fits perfectly on the EF-S 18-55mm lens. Feels like the same quality material as used on the Canon lenses and bodies, so I expect it to hold up well. Better than some of the less expensive hoods that dont quite thread right or break easily.

The Canon kit 15-55mm lens and the 55-250mm lens do not interface with this lens hood properly. The track on these lenses is quite short so there isnt enough surface and stop for a good bite. This causes the lens hood to constantly become dislodged by barely brushing against it. The 67mm Canon lenses have a much better interface track.

I cannot get this lens hood to fit properly on my 18-55 lens. Very disappointed. Not sure I can place blame on anyone but Canon. Not sure its worth the effort to return it for another one.
