I've used a number of these now for customers of mine and although initially sceptical of the quality because of the low price I have to say that I've been impressed with the performance and build quality. Yes you can get better products out there but you will have to pay more for it. The cables that have come with the ones I have bought have all been black and approx 30cm long.

Some windows 10 users who put in a hdd into this will notice very erratic behaviour, including: Transfers hanging Drive reseting Error of timeouts Unstable speeds. All of these will make you want to just return the caddy. But it's all to do with the jmicron jms567 processor it has on board. It is noted on many sites that the jmicron controller has issues with transfers over usb 3 and causes the issues above. To fix it is so simple as jmicron issued a firmware fix. Google "jmicron jms567 firmware update utility" and you'll see a exe download available, download it and unzip it. Plug in icybox hdd enclosure. After a few seconds, right click the jmicron updater and select run as administrator. The update button should be enabled along with current jmicron version info. Click it and wait until done. That's it, done. The drive will now run as it was intended.

Terrible quality, my ssd broke because of this enclosure!! Why? First, this enclosure slow down my ssd speed, compared to other enclosure with the same ssd. Secondly, I've installed my OSX on my ssd with this enclosure, my OSX freezes for no reason randomly, and randomly I can't power off my mac normally. But it's perfect fine with another enclosure. Finally, my ssd won't be recongzied anymore, not even by BIOS. I'm sure this enclosure caused the problme.
