Unless you have some pretty heavy duty PoE needs or are a home networking geek, this is a great middle ground for those like me that have a router without any switch ports and don't want to bleed a great deal of money to support your solution. I have a wireless access point that needs PoE and a Philips light hub that doesn't support wifi, so this product is a great for plugging right into my router and giving me 4 PoE and 1 regular port (minus the uplink). I unboxed it and plugged it in today and everything worked perfectly.

I got this for the poe option, it allows me to run my poe security cameras. It works very well I actually bought a second one so I can power more poe devices.

This thing has been living in a tupperware tub under my back porch, supporting several POE cameras for three years now without a hiccup. It’s a trooper and I’d buy it again.
