My only issue is that at this price, the card still did not come with the mini screws required to secure it to the posts on the motherboard. Otherwise, it is a stable, reliable product, excellent way to add an additional GB port to small form factor motherboards that have limited or no expansion slots, but due to their size, provide at least Mini PCIE slots. The card was immediately recognized by OPNSense, making it a breeze to use it as one of the firewall ports.

This does NOT fit in a Dell Dimension 8200! Though it has PCI slots, this card's gold connector is shorter than usual. This sucks, because I really needed it.

I purchased this card after a fiasco purchasing a lower priced competitor's card and I am glad I did as Startech restored my faith in Mini PCIe ethernet cards. In comparison to the lower priced competition, this card is of a much higher build quality and the cables have sockets that enforce orientation. The card is a full sized mini-pcie card vs. a half sized so it fit right into the machine I was using for pfsense. The card was detected on first boot, was compatible with pfsense out of the box with no drivers or extra kernel modules and so far has held up without any errors or issues. I guess sometimes you get what you pay for.

Unfortunately, after spending 50+ dollars for this item, it was still just " a hair" to big for the slot on the motherboard :-(. It's been sitting in in my fruitbowl (inside of its box) on my kitchen table for a few months now because there's no place I can use it due to the size being off. Whoever says they plugged this directly into their computer is telling a lie! I really believe people from the company wrote these "glowing reviews" just to help sell these cards so the company avoids "taking a bath in them" due to excess surplus!" So close... Jay

I installed the card and it works great at gigabit speeds using automatic configuration. I'm running Ubuntu Server so I just added the following config to /etc/network/interfaces: auto eth1 iface eth1 inet dhcp
