It does the trick. I don't expect anyone to be using this in a situation where it needs to be as stiff as it is. If I needed this level of tension, I would've gone with a magic arm. This is quite overly stiff, and I would've liked it to be just a little longer - I'm using it to hold a black card to shade my lens for better contrast. Maybe after a bit more use it'll loosen up.

I'm using the flex arm to hold the 7" monitor on my tripod. Some of the work I do is streaming video and allows me to sit rather than stand all day, so having the monitor lower saves my neck from looking up. It's stiff enough to handle the Vari-zoom monitor I own, but whether it retains that stiffness as it gets older is unknown. I'm getting stiffer as I get older and that's a bad thing!

It is heavy, stiff and stays where you put it. I attach it to a super clamp and then put a QR adapter on the other end for field monitors or other gear. Would probably hold lighter camera/lens combinations, but I'd probably buy a variable friction magic arm for heavier items.

Inse this to support my iPad pro so I can use it without having to hold it. I clamp it to my end table an swing over my chair. Handles the weight easily. I use an iShot to hold the iPad securely.

Holds a small ball head and cell phone easily. Will also hold my flash off camera but not my DSLR. It won't DROP the DSLR but it isn't steady enough for photography.
