Canon Objektiv RF 200-800mm f/6.3-9 IS USM

I brought this lens in January i use it for bird photography getting exceptional results paired with a Canon R7. Would recommend this lens.

Fantastic reach and reasonably quick focussing for such a large lens - I would have preferred it to have been an internal zoom, but given the cost and the quality optics, I'll live with the compromises.

Great lens for bird photography but I do need a tripod or monopod if using it for longer than a couple of shots because it’s heavy

This lens is awesome!!! I'm a plane photographer and bought it to replace my old Tamron 150-600mm. Unlike the Tamron, which basically was unusable after 500mm, this lens is good up to the full 800mm. I also bought the 2.0 teleconverter. While I didn't have the opportunity to fully test it (The wind got too strong and I had to leave the location), the little but I got to use with the TC looks very promising. I only gave it 4 stars for 2 reasons: 1. It's impossible to go from wide open to fully zoomed in one turn. You must turn it part way and reposition your hand to turn the rest. Not very ideal when you're following a bird or other unpredictable wildlife. 2. You can't put a filter on with the hood on. The hood doesn't fit over the filter, and you can't put the filter on after putting the hood on. Would I buy again? Absolutely. Do I recommend it? Absolutely.

At first I was not sure either to get this canon 200-800 or Rf 100-500. But choosing 200-800 was the best decision.
