Having been using the controller throughout last summer and this spring I went to check on the greenhouse this July to find water spewing out of the top of the unit (looks like it had been doing so for some hours). An internal seal within the unit appears to have failed before the valve, causing it to leak uncontrollably. After a month of back and forth with Gardena they have refused to provide warranty on the device because they believe leaks to the unit must always be caused by frost damage. They are of course unable to tell me what frost they believe the UK had on the 27th-28th of July, when the unit started leaking. TLDR: Buyer beware, these units can develop unfixable leaks, Gardena support will take weeks to reply, and then refuse to warranty the units for obviously false reasons.

Was good while it lasted, but within a year of use (I kept it inside over winter to avoid the frost causing issues as mentioned by other reviews) I noticed a leak. On closer inspection there's a hair line crack in the plastic which is either due to material fault or poor design and probably the same root cause as of similarly reported problems in other reviews. I would've expected Gardena to replace the faulty part, but instead they shift the responsibility to the retailer (in my case Amazon), which is clearly just a decoy tactic and not how these sort of after sale issues are typically handled. I would advise against this product and I'm unlikely to go ahead with other gardens products in the future due to their poor customer support.

Bought one last season, worked fine, went to use it this summer and the internal seals blew, presumably because of the light frost we had over winter! Returned and got money back. £53 for the Gardena one but £20 for others that have been recommended to me. No brainer!

Item stopped working within 3 months support is slow to replace continuously backward and forwards exchanges of email not good slow in responding
