Good product much faster than the USB 2.0 external drive I have. I occasionally needed a an external drive bay to recover data for family and friends. Copying the contents of the old hard drive to the new hard drive when the old drive wouldn't boot is primarily what this is used for. I would also take old drives that I removed from old PC and pull data from them. Good product always worked.

Good Points: Good speed for usb device Improvement Points: 2.5" drive access not covered and therefore sata data and power connections are exposed to dust and other debris. Would have been an easy design mod to cover it like the rest of the 3.5" drive access.

The product worked when paired with an IDE adapter to connect an old desktop hard drive to a laptop. It worked with a laptop running Windows XP and I was able to read from and write to the drive, transfer files from the drive and run programs hosted on the drive. The setup is a little cumbersome and the adapter does not hold the drive firmly in place, but the provided cables and software allow the connection to work. It did not work with laptops running Windows 8 or Windows 10. The OS recognized a drive was there but gave an invalid device message when trying to read from it.

Used this to transfer files from my old dead PCs to my new one. Was way easier to perform versus connecting them up to the motherboard of my new PC.
