Clinique Aromatics In White 50ml Eau De Parfum

Perfume with a beautiful fragrance which I have been using for some time now.

It's difficult to identify single notes in the this very complex and rather mysterious scent. Amber, white flowers, and musk are present for me, but do not announce loudly. Among many choices in my perfume collection, I now find myself reaching for this every day. Please keep making this beautiful fragrance.

I have been using Clinique's original Aromatics for thirty years and am also a fan of the 'My Happy' range. I tried Aromatics White in a store and loved the fragrance, so I asked for some as a gift. Unfortunately, it has been a real disappointment: no matter how lavishly I apply it, the fragrance doesn't last and is all but undetectable by the time I leave the house in the morning. I am now effectively using it as a very expensive body spray, and having to layer it with other perfumes. Clinique- you know how to make perfumes that last: what went wrong here?

The smell is powdery (vanilla and musk), white floral notes (orange blossom) and ambery (labdanum - I believe); gives a honey-like lingering scent that I love. Longevity is long-lasting (5-6 hours). The sillage is intimate to moderate; does not leave a fragrance trail behind as you walk around (would probably have to layer) but is intense up-close. I would say the fragrance is more feminine than unisex. The price point is expensive but for the size and quality - I would say it's worth it.
