My second one of these and it is great. Power, dust collection and flexibility at a reasonable cost. Today's version is just as good as the one they made 20 years ago. How often does that happen?

extremely noisy motor. Even with full size 3M earmuffs it is too loud for me. Sounds like a freight train screeching to a halt on its steel rails. I returned it.

The size and weight are perfect for hand held operations. Dust collection is great. Best feature however is the ease ,accuracy a d precision for setting depth of cut. I know of nothing g on the market that will match it

I can see why so many professionals use this plunge router. I was actually looking at the other Dewalt combo routers, that come with a fixed based and a plunge base, but I bought this seeing how many professionals use it, and I don't regret the purchase. The base is a little weird with the shape of the base, but nonetheless, it was a breeze to use when I was making mortises on my bed frame build and great for using as a tool to cut tenons. I still use this tool today and I'm happy with my purchase.
