Philips TAR3306 - Clock-radio - 400 mW

The controls are anti-intuitive and the radio antennae is poor. Probably the worst thing is that all the controls are on the top so that when you reach out to do any action, you are likely to trigger the wrong thing. This means when you press to reduce the brightness, it’s easy to accidentally hit the radio on or the alarm and then you’re trying to stop it blaring (think 5am) you can’t find the right button. All the buttons are multi-functional and either operate the radio or the alarm, but here’s the real problem: depending on what specific mode it’s in within the radio or alarm mode, the button does different things! Honestly, it’s not even good as a clock radio because the dimmest setting still lights up a dark room. It looks great, which is why it gets 1 star. Do not buy this for anyone elderly.

Purchased the Phillips large display digital clock so our son (who has autism) would know if it’s time to get out of bed in the mornings -when clock shows 7:00 time to get up Works a treat

Good size clock to read from distance, nice and bright in the dark

Over the past couple of years, I have bought four of these clocks for different areas in my house. I love the size of the numbers that can be seen from across the room, but most of all I love the dimming feature, so I can have it on bright during the day and reduce the brightness at night. The alarm and time are extremely easy to set. The radio is the only thing that lets it down and sometimes the stations can produce a scratchy sound, but I don't use this clock for its radio capability.
